Fill rate

Fill rate means the share of your advert space that actually sold. Plain words, why it matters, and a real example from advertising work.

Short answer

Fill rate means the share of your advert space that actually sold. Empty space earns nothing, so this shows how much money is being left behind. Six sold slots out of ten is a fill rate of sixty percent.

How Fill rate works on Advoratise

Fill rate is the share of the slots you offered that actually sold. We work it out from your listings and bookings, not from anything you type in, and when there is too little activity to answer honestly we say so instead of printing a flattering percentage.

The mistake people make

Fixing a low fill rate by cutting the price first. Usually the listing is the problem: no audience number, no format detail, no past results. A buyer who cannot tell what they are getting does not buy it at any price.

What to look at next

Listing the slots you have not sold is the only way an empty week turns into money.

Questions people ask

What counts as an unsold slot?
A slot you listed for a date that has passed without a booking. Slots you never listed are not counted against you.
Is Fill rate the same everywhere?
The idea is, but the counting is not. Always check how a platform counts it before comparing two numbers.
Do I need to understand this to use Advoratise?
No. Every page explains itself in plain words, and this glossary is here only when you want the detail.
