Marketplace or a classic affiliate network?
An affiliate network signs publishers, tracks the sales they cause and pays a commission on each one. The differences worth knowing are the deduplication window, the payment terms and the joining cost.
| Point | Advoratise | A commission-only affiliate network |
|---|---|---|
| How you pay | Per placement, or per sale, chosen per offer. | Almost always per sale, on one commission rate for the whole programme. |
| Deduplication window | One counted sale per order, inside the window you set on the offer, checked against sales already counted. | A network-wide window, and cross-network deduplication you have to negotiate yourself. |
| Payment terms for partners | Held until the refund window closes, then paid automatically, normally 14 days. | A monthly cycle, commonly 30 to 60 days after the month ends. |
| Cost to join | No setup fee and no monthly minimum, for either side. | A setup fee plus a monthly platform minimum is common. |
| Partner reach | A small, checked list of partners, and it is growing slowly. | Tens of thousands of publishers who can start promoting tomorrow. |
Where the other way wins
An established network already has the partners, the country coverage and the account managers. If you need volume next month, it will beat us on every one of those.
Best for
Advertisers who want fast, predictable partner payouts and both kinds of deal in one place.
