Compare
Which way of working suits you?
We compare ways of working, not named companies, and every page says where the other way is better than ours.
Marketplace or a direct booking deal by email?
The classic way is an email to the publisher, a rate card back, a booking order (an insertion order, or IO) signed by both sides, and an invoice on payment terms afterwards. Both routes end with the same advert on the same site.
Marketplace or an exchange and SSP setup?
Programmatic buying means bidding for single views in an auction: a demand-side platform (DSP) bids, a supply-side platform (SSP) sells the space, and you see where it landed afterwards in a placement report.
Marketplace or a classic affiliate network?
An affiliate network signs publishers, tracks the sales they cause and pays a commission on each one. The differences worth knowing are the deduplication window, the payment terms and the joining cost.
Run your own ad sales, or list the space here?
Doing it yourself means a rate card, outreach, a booking order per advertiser, your own invoice and your own chasing. You keep everything you earn, and you do everything.
Is it worth listing unsold space at all?
Unsold space earns nothing: in the trade it is called unfilled inventory. Listing it costs time, and that time is the real question.
