Contracargo

In one sentence

Chargeback means money taken back after a payment. It protects buyers, and it is why we hold money before paying it out.

A real example

If a card holder disputes a payment, the money is reversed and the payout is stopped.

How Chargeback works on Advoratise

If a card payment is clawed back after we have already recorded a sale, the sale is reversed too: the commission is cancelled and, if the payout has not left the hold yet, it is stopped. That is the practical reason the hold exists at all — a card holder can dispute a payment weeks after the advert ran.

The mistake people make

Assuming a paid order is final. It is final once the dispute window has passed, and that is usually longer than the campaign. Do not spend a commission you have only been promised.

Preguntas frecuentes

Who loses the money in a chargeback?
The advertiser's shop loses the order, so the commission that was paid for it is withdrawn. Advoratise does not keep a fee on a reversed sale.
